Off to library today to do some serious 471 studying. I've got the whole day to this thing.. better be good!!
Maxwell and I are going to get reacquainted and I may have to kick his butt again. But I hear this time he's got friends to back him up. It's okay, 'determination' has got my back.

Boy, I studied just about enough for this exam. I shall study for ECE471 a bit harder! One more to go this term

I'm really beginning to enjoy writing to myself!
I just put a hold on an excellent book. It's called Digital Image Processing by Gonzalez et al. Will be cool to have this in my hand after midterms and probably dive into it for a few weeks. Will possibly determine my future! haha Hopefully, it will. I always find/try things I don't like and end up trying new things.
Anyhow, realized all the good data processing courses are in the system design program so I will probably only take one ECE course next term and 3 SYDE courses. That will help me with my mechatronics option too although I doubt I'll be able to complete it.
Anyways, off to sleep! Good day for Bananas!
No, I haven't gone bananas!
I was sleeping the other day and had this idea about edge detection stuff. I am actually pretty interested in this stuff. It's a combination of DSP, AI, fuzzy logic, and pretty much number crunching. I think image processing is a very cool field and I do not mind finding out more about it.
Anyhow, just thought I'd make a post about this in case I forgot about this. Timister and I are going to write some code to detect an apple. From my limited knowledge I have an idea as to how to implement it. Convert image to black/white, do edge detection. Look for edges that have certain characteristics similar to the outline of an apple (certain angles for the arcs and no weird discontinuities). Where there is a weird continuity is probably an area where the stem is. Then once the apple has been sort of detected, verify the color is correct and perhaps do some more analysis as to what kinda apple it is and what sorta orientation. Probably wrote a bunch of junk just now but who knows.. if intuition works in this field, then this is definitely for me!!
Be good if wordpress had a spell checker thingy. Takes much too much time to edite myself. But I guess my writing is improving with each sentence I write. Sweet!
Another midterm in 22 hours.. minus sleep and food that's about 12 hours.. I had about 50 hours and did about half the course.. now I have 12 hours to do the other half!

Maybe I'll improve my exam tactics and I can laugh back one day at my slacking ways!!

It's been 4 days and I have that urge again!! It's always that little voice saying 5 minutes couldn't hurt or why dont you visit your friends no more or dont u wanna just spend time fun time!
There's a bigger voice now saying, that's just wasting time. (<- note the period)
I wonder if that urge will ever go away. Like Nash in the Beautiful Mind he still sees those friends of his at old age. I should be a drug addict consultant although if I ever get addicted myself I think I'd be better off playing ET.

I believe this is the third day. Wow!!!
I would be even happier if i hadn't started watching Full Metal Alchemist.
I finished 52 episodes in these days 
Each episode was about 17 minutes. That means 15 hours. 5 hours a day!!!
Well if it's substituting one evil for another FMA is still better because I've finished it and I dont think I want to go through another anime any time soon. It was pretty sick (as in nasty). I don't like those unhappy stories, I'd much rather watch Ranma 1/2 again XD
Anyways, still holding up!!
At least my sleep schedule is getting back to normal too (2am sleep 12 am wake up)!!

This is my latest attempt at trying to quit this game. I have logged more than 700 hours this year and overall I'd say I have wasted 4000 hours on this game. Let's see now.. 4000/24 = 167 days. If I make that 8 hours a day that's triple that number closing in on 500 days!!! Without counting weekends (multiply by 7/5) that's 700 days!! People say smoking takes years off your life. Well, video games do too!! LOOK ET took 2 years of my life!!
Well, so far 1 day not gaming. I'll keep an update here and hopefully this blog will give some added motivation.
For those that are interested I play as 'mario' on a server called beginner's park. (www.bpark3.com) The community is what keeps me playing.. great buncha people.
